A few of the #ReachfortheMagic travel team spent some time at Walt Disney World Resort this last week and we not only enjoyed a breakfast at Topolino's Terrace as a way to kickstart our day, but to also experience firsthand what the character dining experience is currently like.
As part of current safety precautions at Disney, guests (ages 2 and up) must wear face coverings in all public areas. In addition, signage is located throughout the theme parks and resort theme parks advising of safety precautions. There is hand sanitizer located throughout the resorts in public areas and signage requests one party per elevator.
Online check-in is currently available for table service dining via the My Disney Experience app or by scanning a QR code near the check-in podium of the dining location. Once you're table is ready, the cast member will lead you to your table where you'll find another QR code to scan to view the menu. Guests are being seated in a socially distanced manner with tables blocked off for no seating and with several feet between parties.
In addition to taking your order, your waitstaff will ask for your beverage order and bring this delicious basket of pastries ahead of your breakfast entrees. All cast members I observed were wearing a face covering and a face shield.
The breakfast menu at Topolino's Terrace has some delicious options! Between the four of us, we had Quiche Gruyère, Smoked Salmon, and Sour Cream Waffle
And the part that everyone really wants to hear about....the character experience at Topolino's was just as top notch as it was when I visited in January this year! Each character came around several times and we caught their dance/song more than once as well. Each character would wave, blow kisses, and act in their characteristic manner...the difference was they'd do so several feet away from you. They still pose for photos, both that you take of them and with them in the background as you take a posed shot or selfie! Here's some of the photos taken that morning.
This character breakfast has been a standout prior to the pandemic and I think it continues to be one during current times. Service was fantastic and attentive, we never waited too long for beverages or refills, entrees, and the check. Our smiles are evident and proof that we had a fun experience. Be sure to take a few minutes to head out onto the terrace after your meal for a wonderful view of the area.
Topolino's Terrace -Flavors of the Riviera is located within Disney's Riviera Resort at Walt Disney World Resort and currently serves breakfast (character dining) and dinner.
